CBSE class X exams begin with Punjabi
TNN | Mar 6, 2019, 07:58 ISTLudhiana: City students of class X CBSE were anxious as they had their first paper of Punjabi on Tuesday, but many found it quite easy, and were elated. On the other hand, students of class XII found their physics paper tough. Meanwhile, PSEB students of class XII had their English exam on Tuesday.
The CBSE Punjabi exam began on a happy note as students claimed it was easy. Kanwaldeep Kaur, head of department, Punjabi GMT School, said: “Students were worried, as they had their first paper today. However, it was easy. They were given four sets, and questions were within the syllabus.”
Tamanpreet, a student of class X, said: “For me, the exam was easy, but I found short grammar a little problematic. I was apprehensive about idioms before the exams, but fortunately they were very simple. Long grammar and literature too were alright.”
Poojan Bansal, another student, said: “Being my first board exam, I was very nervous, but as soon as I was handed over the Punjabi question paper, my joy was unbounded. I was really delighted after reading all the questions. It gave me confidence that I can score well as I know all the answers.”
Adamya Tyagi, yet another student, said: “Margins were already drawn on the paper booklet which reduced our difficulty. Today’s paper was quiet easy as well as scoring. Every student who had opted for Punjabi are expecting good marks in it. I was able to complete the paper before time, and therefore, I had ample time to revise it. Earlier, I was worried about grammar, but it was much easier.”
Lakhdeep Kaur, a student of GMT School, stated: “The paper was great, and I had attempted everything. I secured 60 in my pre-boards, but I am expecting more than 90 in this exam.”
Lengthy Physics paper
The students of Class XII found the physics exam lengthy. Rajat Bhatia, PGT Physics teacher at Drishti School, Narangwal village, said: “Questions were easy and to the point. Some new questions framing tricks from CBSE can be seen in the paper. Students told me they faced time management issues during the exam.”
Deshna Aggarwal, a student of BCM School of class XII, said: “We were told that the board paper is going to be a lot easier than the school paper. I solved the previous year’s question, and all the question papers of the school. However, I was not happy to see the physics paper today. I am not satisfied attempting it. It should have been easier, as compared to the previous year’s paper.”
Arshnoor, a student of Class XII, non-medical, said: “The Physics theory exam was a balanced exam, neither tough nor easy. Many questions were from NCERT books and numericals too, but the exam could be considered a bit lengthy.”
Amishee Nohria, a DAV School student of Class XII medical, said: “The paper was easy, but lengthy. A few students could not complete it in time.” Another student, Gurvinder Singh of class XII, said: “The exam went well. B Section was complicated with tricky questions.”
PSEB English paper
Sourav Arora, class XII Commerce student of PAU Government School, said: “The exam was easy. However, short questions worth one mark each were tricky and confusing.” Gaurav Singh of the same school said: “It was not difficult, and almost equivalent to sample paper.”
