The Delhi government on Tuesday launched the common mobility app ‘One Delhi’ which is intended to allow users to plan their journeys aboard the metro as well as all State-run buses in the Capital.
Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said the app was among the initiatives being undertaken to “improve access, reliability and safety of Delhi’s buses aimed at making public transport the preferred mode of commuting in Delhi. “Citizens can easily learn about bus routes, timings and real-time arrival data of buses rather than waiting for long hours,” the Minister was quoted in a statement from the government. According to the statement, the app aims to be a “universal journey planner app” for all Delhi commuters with features, including access to real-time arrival of all cluster buses at any bus stop and static data of DTC buses.
It will, according to the statement, also allow users to access information about all bus stops, bus and metro routes, fares, expected time of arrival (ETA) of buses and metro trains.
“ONE DELHI App also has other smart features by which users can automatically visualise nearby bus stops and buses plying in their vicinity on the map with detailed information. Delhi government foresees to make the Capital as a world-class city where citizens leave their private vehicles and shift to public transportation to fight against pollution,” the statement added.
