The YSR Congress questioned the rationale behind the Andhra Pradesh government’s decision to hand over personalised data to private companies and charged the ruling TDP with misusing the data in the name of Seva Mitra app.
YSRC leader Botcha Satyanarayana sought clarification from the TDP leaders on whether they had revealed the personalised data of people by handing it over to private agencies. Recalling that the exposure of the data leakage was based on the information provided by residents of Hyderabad, he took objection to the TDP’s criticism of the YSRC in this regard.
He justified the party’s decision to lodge a complaint in Hyderabad, claiming that the city was joint capital for the two States for ten years as had been clarified by AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao. He wanted former IT advisor to AP Government J. Satyanarayana to respond on the issue.
He said the YSRC had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission about the presence of people with votes in different places in the State and the ruling party was trying to manipulate the electoral process for political gains.
He demanded that the election authority initiate appropriate action following the data leakage.
