Chennai: The Tambaram municipality had placed four public toilets – two for men and two for women – on Tiruneermalai Main Road. They were made up of cardboard and plastic. However, they became unusable after the motor, using which water was being supplied to the toilets, was damaged a few months ago. After the toilets caught fire around 9.30 pm, the residents informed the Tambaram Fire and Rescue Services Department. After a struggle, the fire was doused. The police are investigating.
