LUCKNOW: BSP chief Mayawati questioned the silence of PM Narendra Modi over the number of casualties in the air strike on a terror camp at Balakot in Pakistan even as BJP president Amit Shah claimed that 250 terrorists were killed. While the IAF refused to peg the casualties, with Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa saying, that the force doesn't count human casualties and focuses on whether targets were hit or not, BJP leaders have been giving varying figures, ranging from 250 as claimed by Shah to 400 mentioned by CM Yogi Adityanath.

"BJP chief Amit Shah arduously making claim that IAF strike had killed over 250 terrorists in Pak but why his guru PM Modi who is always keen to take credit for everything is silent over it? Terrorists killed is good news but what is the secret behind deep silence of PM over it?" Mayawati tweeted on Tuesday. On Monday, Mayawati had questioned PM's statement on Rafale jets, asking why he did not purchase them in past five years if he felt that they would have helped in a skirmish with Pakistan.
