Fire dept notice to banquet hall on school premises
Anjaya Anparthi | TNN | Mar 7, 2019, 04:00 ISTNagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) fire and emergency services department has issued notice to a banquet hall and lawn constructed on school premises of CP & Berar Educational Society, situated on Telangkhedi Hanuman Mandir road in Ravi Nagar.
TOI on February 25 had highlighted that the society had leased out its hall adjacent to Prahar Military School to Jog Hospitality Private Ltd for developing banquet hall and lawn.
Taking cognisance of the report, NMC Civil Lines station officer Rajendra Dubey inspected the hall and lawn, and submitted a report to chief fire officer Rajendra Uchake.
Accordingly, Uchake on February 28, issued notice to the society and Jog Hospitality directing to apply for fire NOC. “There are no systems on ground, first floors and terrace of hall. Start work of installation of systems within seven days and complete them within 30 days,” Uchake said.
Uchake directed installation of six types of systems on ground floor, another six types on first floor and two types on terrace.
Also, Uchake on Wednesday sent a letter to NMC Dharampeth Zone to take appropriate action against the hall and lawn
The zone had issued notice to Jog Hospitality directing to submit documents on February 20.
An official from the zone told TOI neither Jog Hospitality nor the society has submitted documents as of Wednesday. Deputy collector (nazul) Ravindra Kumbhare too had issued notice for submitting documents.
Officials from nazul department had told TOI it is a nazul land on which banquet hall and lawn came up. The society cannot utilize the land for commercial purpose,” they said.
Earlier, the society had denied any violations. Jog Hospitality had stated hall and lawn will be brought into use only after obtaining all permissions.
