MUMBAI: BEST on Tuesday inaugurated its first centralised single-window centre (Grahak Suvidha Kendra) to redress grievances within 24 hours in Dadar. The issues include change of name, address, tariff slab in electricity bills and inflated bills.


BEST supplies power to 10.5 lakh consumers in the island city, which includes 7.5 lakh residential.


BEST committee chairman Ashish Chemburkar said, “You will no longer have to run from pillar to post, and don’t have to go to ward offices with complaints on power bills. Officials at the centre can take decisions onthe-spot.”


It will operate 9.30am-4.30pm, Monday-Friday. “We will extend the timing gradually,” Chemburkar said, adding that centres were planned at Colaba and Tardeo too.
