They created false evidence by forging, manipulating papers

The Delhi Police Economic Offences Wing has lodged an FIR against seven persons, including Kishor Lal Sachdeva, a former MP, for forgery and cheating for allegedly trying to grab a company and its assets.

The FIR was lodged based on a complaint by a group of persons who have purchased residential plots from the company, Messrs Capital Land Builders Pvt Limited.

The complainants said that they had purchased the plot after checking with different authorities regarding the status of the company owned by Shaheed Memorial Society.

The company was incorporated in 1959 by Satya Chowdhry, wife of late Chowdhry Brahm Prakash — first Chief Minister of Delhi —, the complaint said. It added that of the total share capital of 560 shares of the company, 500 shares were with the Trust and 10 with Ms. Chowdhry. Prakash was the president of the Trust till he died in 1993.

The accused persons allegedly created false evidence by forging and manipulating the documents of the company to take its control, the complainants alleged.

The police lodged the case on a direction by a court here on a complaint by one of the persons who had purchased a piece of land from the company.

“Bare perusal of the allegations made in the present application shows that they are serious as they pertain to forgery of stamps. Also to subsequent forgeries of company documents, which have been filed in some court proceedings. Forgery of documents requires police investigation as it would require seizure of documents,” said Metropolitan Magistrate Deepti Devesh.

“Facts and circumstances disclosed on record along with documents placed show commission of cognisable offence, hence SHO, Jyoti Nagar [East-Delhi] is directed to lodge an FIR under appropriate sections of law in the present case,” the Magistrate said.

Later, the Jyoti Nagar police transferred the case to the Economic Offences Wing, which lodged the case.
