Share market update: Bank shares mixed; RBL Bank up nearly 3%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's afternoon session.

Shares of RBL Bank (up 2.94 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 2.08 per cent), State Bank of India (up 1.34 per cent) and IDFC First Bank (up 0.98 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Federal Bank (down 1.57 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.54 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 0.79 per cent) and YES Bank (down 0.74 per cent) were trading lower.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.05 per cent up at 27,567.05 around 12:57 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 49.80 points at 11,037.25 while the BSE Sensex was up 144.61 points at 36,587.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of ICICI Bank, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, YES Bank, Wipro, ITC, Tata Motors, SBI, BEL, L&T Fin Holding and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
