ABT Brings Squadron Of Gritty Tuned VW And Audis To Geneva

If there’s one tuning company out there that know their way around VW Group products, it’s Germany’s own ABT Sportsline. So if you’d like your Audi, VW, Skoda or Seat to look more imposing, calling them up would probably be a good idea.

At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the tuner showed up with a wide array of products, ranging from the wicked-fast Audi RS4+ to the environmentally friendly VW e-Transporter, which is kind of lacking in the horsepower department. Let’s run through them one at a time though.

Audi Q8

ABT was first to get their hands on the brand new Q8 crossover and give it a makeover. It meant adding new wheels, a body kit, making some interior tweaks and of course, feeding it more power through their proprietary power kit.

So aside from the custom front and rear skirt add-ons or the rear wing, this car, which is a Q8 50 TDI, now makes 330 PS (325 HP) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, as opposed to its previous 286 PS (282 HP) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft).

As for the interior, you have your carbon fiber inserts and custom badging. All in a day’s work.

Audi A6 Avant

Yet another family car from Audi, and again just like the Q8, this one also comes with a Glacier White exterior, contrasted by some glossy black accents. Other mods include a new front apron, rear skirt add-on, matte black tailpipes and massive 21-inch wheels finished in Mystic Black.

Since this is also a V6 TDI model and it’s equipped with the same Power Kit as its larger high-riding sibling, it benefits from the same 330 PS (325 HP) output. According to the tuner, this Audi A6 will edge out a stock version by 0.2 seconds in sprinting to 100 km/h (62 mph), needing 5.5 seconds instead of 5.7.

Audi RS4+

If you’re in Geneva right now and you just arrived at the ABT stand, we wouldn’t blame you for wanting nothing to do with any of the other cars and focused entirely on the RS4+. Its 2.9-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine now makes a proper 510 PS (503 HP) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, up from its standard of 450 PS (444 HP) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft).

When the car was first announced, images showed a Misano Red example, whereas the Geneva show car is rocking Viper Green – to go with its height-adjustable sport springs, carbon-look quad exhaust tips, 20-inch wheels and carbon aero package.

VW e-Transporter

Unlike the regular e-Transporter, this particular one has been fitted with an aero kit comprised of a custom front bumper, extended side skirts, 20-inch wheels, custom wrap and even a large rear wing. Also, notice the tailpipe covers? They’re there because this is a fully-electric vehicle, powered by a 37.3 kWh battery and an electric motor.

All in all, it makes 111 PS (109 HP) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque, and will get you to 100 km/h (62 mph) in…you know what, that’s not important (and also hasn’t been released yet). What is important is that you can travel some 208 km (129 miles) on a single charge, and that another version with even better range (400 km / 248 miles) will arrive at a later date, using a 74.6 kWh battery pack.
