Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday offered a ‘chadar’ on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ‘dargah’ of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti during the 807th Urs (annual pilgrimage) of the Sufi saint.
Naqvi, the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, paid a visit to the ‘dargah’ of the saint who belonged to 1141-1236 AD.
The Union Minister read out the message from Buland Darwaja.
He prayed for peace in the country.
In his message, Mr Modi greeted disciples of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti on the occasion of annual Urs.
He said unity in cultural diversity is the beauty of the country.
”Our country’s saints have time and again spread the message of peace and unity.”
On the occasion, Mr Naqvi said that the Prime Minister is like a soldier, who believes in legacy of saints and Sufis.
Mr Naqvi said, ”I pray to the Garib Nawaz that he accepts our prayers and make our country terror-free”.
