Ayushman scheme to be implemented in hospitals run by North Corporation

To be available at all hospitals and 10-bed health units

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation will be implementing the Centre’s Ayushman Bharath Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yogana in its hospitals. The standing committee has passed a motion to this effect on Tuesday.

The proposal stated that the scheme will be implemented at all hospitals and 10-bed health units under the health department of the North Corporation. To this end, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the North civic body and the National Health Authority (NHA), it read.

In six hospitals

A separate resolution, also passed by the standing committee stated that the scheme will be allowed in it’s six hospitals and the beneficiaries will be bonafide residents of the city who are included in the 2010 economic survey. The resolution added that if the patient cannot be treated at the civic body’s hospitals, then they will be allowed to seek treatment from 18 private empanelled hospitals in the city under the scheme.

The scheme will cover underprivileged, destitute, manual scavengers, primitive tribal group, legally released bonded labourers and others not earning more than ₹10,000 per month.

It will provide enrolled hospitals with reimbursement for the expenses incurred on treatment of enlisted citizens.
