LIT officials on strike after attack on clerk
TNN | Mar 6, 2019, 07:58 ISTLudhiana: Seeking action against the person who had allegedly manhandled one of the clerks at the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) office on March 1, the employees remained on strike on Tuesday. The employees demanded that they will not return to work unless the police will take action against the person.
The employees claimed that such types of incidents were threat for all of them and if there will be no action against the accused then others will also attempt a similar thing.
It was on March 1 when a clerk of LIT Harpreet Singh had alleged that a person who had applied for transfer of ownership in his name manhandled him. The estate officer of LIT Harpreet Sandhu also alleged that he argued with him as well. The officials claimed since there was commercial activity going on at the ground floor of the flat in Sant Isher Singh Nagar for which he had applied, they had refused him the same.
The estate officer of LIT Harpreet Sandhu said, “The staff remained on strike on Tuesday over the demand of action against the person.”
