Pulse Polio at 1,604 centres on March 10
TNN | Mar 6, 2019, 04:13 ISTMysuru: Immunisation programme Pulse Polio will be held across Mysuru on March 10, informed deputy commissioner Abhiram G Sankar here on Tuesday.
Abhiram, who held a preliminary meet to discuss the programme, said that parents in Mysuru district should take their children aged below 5 to for vaccination. “The programme at every centre will be handled with care and proper supervision. Parents should not be worried about any kind of rumours on Pulse Polio,” he said.
Abhiram said that 1,604 centres have been set up with an aim to vaccinate 2,49,954 children in the district. Polio drops will be given at 23 tourist destinations and mobile centres. “Anganwadi workers should extend their support to provide polio drops to children of tribals, slum dwellers and labourers. All the departments should coordinate and ensure that all children are vaccinated,” he said.
DHO Basavaraju, reproductive child health programme officer Ravi and WHO consultant Sudheer Nayak were present in the meeting.
