  • Pharmacy assistant says she regularly eats dinner and then orders a takeaway
  • She eats what she wants, when she wants and never puts weight on
  • Reason for petite figure is revealed in tonight's The Secret Lives of Slim People

A woman who often orders a late night takeaway after eating dinner has revealed how she manages to keep her petite figure - despite doing no exercise.

Margaret, 23, from South London, who 'doesn't believe in calories,' is 5ft 2in tall and weighs eight stone.

She was filmed around the clock for Channel 4's The Secret Lives of Slim People in a bid to discover how she keeps off the pounds.

'I'm not a fussy eater,' explained the pharmacy assistant in last night's show. 'If it comes to eating junk food in the morning I'll eat junk food in the morning, if it comes to eating junk food any time of day, I'll eat that. I don't pick and choose.'

And one viewer took to social media to express their opinion on the matter: 'Being thin doesn't necessarily mean healthy, same as being overweight doesn't mean unhealthy,' she penned. 'Genetics, mental health and air quality all make a big difference.'

Margaret's lifestyle was examined in detail in last night's episode of The Secret Lives of Slim People.

The 23-year-old revealed she doesn't exercise 'whatsoever' - nor does she watch the calories she clocks up either.

And her friends backed her up - saying that they have never seen her eat a plate of vegetables or even a salad.

In less than 24 hours, Margaret skipped breakfast and could be seen tucking into a plate of carbonara pasta with a calorie-laden strawberry frappe for lunch.

Over the duration of the week, it was obviously that Margaret regularly cooks meat stew and rice for dinner, and is obsessed with takeaways - often ordering one late in the evening to enjoy with friends.

After watching back the footage and data stored from Margaret's sleep tracker, nutritionist Amanda Ursell revealed the amount of sleep she gets could be the factor in helping her stay slim.

On average, Margaret got nine hours a night - two hours more than the national average.

The 23-year-old said she doesn't exercise at all, except for walking up escalators - nor does she believe in calorie counting

Expert Professor Hardy revealed there's an association between the duration of sleep and body mass index.

'People who have less than five or six hours a night are at risk of becoming obese,' she said.

'When people don't have enough sleep, it affects some of the key hormones to do with appetite and fullness.'

'People who have had less sleep may have a tendency to want to eat more and feel less satisfied once they've eaten a meal. Regular long sleep can help control your appetite and weight.'

And viewers took to social media after the shock revelation and drew comparisons between themselves and Margaret's eating habits.

'The only exercise I get is walking up the escalators - same,' wrote one, while another penned: 'This programme is really interesting because the people they are studying are just like me. maybe I'll find out how to put weight on.'

Some viewers empathised with Margaret's exercise routine and struggle to put on weight, while others questioned how healthy she actually could be given her poor diet
