Seven solution providers won cash prizes of ₹1 lakh each

Seven solution providers won cash prizes of ₹1 lakh each at the end of the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH2019) Software Edition at the National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi, on Sunday.

A 36-hour duration spanning Saturday and Sunday witnessed brainstorming by 31 vibrant teams of eight members each (114 boys and 68 girls) and 25 enthusiastic mentors cracking seven of the eight problem statements.

The seven winning teams were: Team ‘FitGit1.0’ from Delhi Technological University, New Delhi, for coming out with a solution for the problem statement titled ‘Longevity’; Team ‘GhoulCoders’ from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad (Waste Management), Team “Technologues” from Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, New Delhi (Live School for World-class free education), Team ‘Hacking Bad’ from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Maharashtra (Solid Waste/ Waste management cost), Team ‘Scorpions X’ from Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Tamilnadu (Avoid Cash Crop Loss), Team ‘Apeiron’ from Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Madhya pradesh (Mobile App - Software Development for GST) and Team ‘Coders__United’ from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, Maharashtra (Software platform for managing payment transactions of Employee).

Chief guest Raman Narasimhan, vice-president, Cognizant, Chennai, joined the Director of NIT-T Mini Shaji Thomas in honouring the students in the presence of Samson Mathew, Dean - Student Welfare.

In his address, Mr. Raman Narasimhan lauded the teams for their insightful and credible solutions, which, he pointed out would contribute to the nation’s development.
