Coimbatore: Two construction workers were arrested by police on Tuesday night for murdering a tailor over a drunken brawl at a burial ground at Periyaputhur village near Karamadai.

The deceased was identified as T Pandi, 36, a native of Morattur near Andipatti in Theni district. He was working as a tailor at Varshini Silks at Thennampalayam for the last four days. On Tuesday morning, he was found dead at the burial ground with multiple injuries. Preliminary inquiry revealed that Pandi had gone to his relative’s house at Periyaputhur village on Monday. The same day night, he had gone to the burial ground to consume liquor with a liquor bottle in his packet. S Thangaraj, 23, and P Manikandan, 41, both from Periyaputhur village, also came to the burial ground and found Pandi consuming liquor.
