Ghaziabad: A member of Dujana gang was arrested in Khora on Sunday. Police have seized a Japanese pistol, four live cartridges and a motorcycle from him.

According to police, Anshul (37), a resident of Railway Colony in Pratap Vihar, was a sharpshooter in the gang. Satya Prakash Singh, SHO of Khora police station, said cops got a tip-off that a criminal would cross Khoda on Sunday night, and police checkposts were set up on several roads in the area.

“Anshul approached one such checkpost on a motorcycle. Cops noticed him acting suspiciously and told him to stop. A search revealed he had a Japanese pistol in his possession, and he was detained,” he said.

“In 2018, Anshul killed Billo Gujjar, a member of Sunder Bhati Gang. He was released on bail four months ago,” the SHO added.

Almost 20 cases have been registered against him in various police stations of Delhi, Greater Noida, Delhi and Haryana, cops said. An FIR was registered against Anshul under relevant sections of the Arms Act the same night, and he was arrested. He was produced in a court and sent to judicial custody on Monday.
