GP member thrashed over irregular water supply
TNN | Mar 6, 2019, 04:17 ISTHubballi: A few villagers allegedly attacked a gram panchayat member in Kundagol area on Monday over delay in supplying drinking water to their area.
Sources said a group of villagers had an argument with Betadur gram panchayat member Neelavva Adargunchi over the delay in supply of water to their areas.
Angry villagers also claimed that they did not get drinking water for 10 days and water supply was not proper in the village.
Heated arguments led to clash between the gram panchayat member and villagers.
Kundagol inspector Venkatesh Swami confirmed the incident took place and said Neelavva had sustained minor injuries.
“I have called the villagers for a meeting to solve this issue after we got a verbal complaint from the gram panchayat member. A complaint is not yet registered in this issue,” he told TOI.
