Jazz Band of Mauritius narrated Love and Freedom Beats

Presentation of Maurice’s Jazz Band in Bharat Bhawan

Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has organized the performances of Maurice’s Jazz Band, Dean Nukadu Quintirt on Sunday. In this jazz performance which was organized in the Antarang auditorium of Bharat Bhawan, Neil was on the saxophone, Dennis was on bass guitar and Fabraish has performed on drums.

In this one hour performance, Blues Marise, Mete Jazz, Tantrum, Annibas, See You, Mumbai in July by Midnight, High on Five and Mossga were performed.

Bass guitarist Dennis said, “In this concert we are singing on love salts and Indian influence, but usually our songs are related to freedom. There has been a long history of slavery in our country and we have come out of that slavery, today and have reached this present time today.

This difficult period gives us the courage to fight the problems of the 21st century and we should never forget our past, that is why anger of freedom is mostly seen in our tunes.

This is the first time when we have come to India. In this Indian tour we have to give our performances at three places. After Delhi we came here in Bhopal and the next performance will be in Lucknow.

Dennis says that there are many people of Indian origin that live in Mauritius, this is the reason that we are quite familiar with Tamil, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Oriya and Urdu languages.Jazz has arrived just before 60 years in our country, so in our music, Jazz’s journey of these 60 years is found. In these performances, Yanice and Manice took charge as sound engineers.
