NEW DELHI: Mentha oil edged up in futures trade on Tuesday, supported by a rise in demand by consuming industries at spot market.

Reports of delayed sowing in the major growing regions due to weather disturbances also made speculators raise their positions in mentha futures.

Around 11:40 am, MCX Mentha oil was at Rs 1,615.50 per kg, up by Rs 4.70, or 0.29 per cent.

As per brokerage SMC Global Securities, mentha oil (March) is expected to hold above Rs 1,590.
