2019 World Car Of The Year Finalists Announced, Which Ones Should Win?

The road to the 2019 World Car Awards began at the 2018 Paris Auto Show, on October 2, and continues today with the top three finalists announced in each of the six different categories.

Voted by a jury of 86 automotive journalists from 18 countries, based on their evaluation after test driving each and every model, the shortlist has been made public during the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and includes the following, in alphabetical order:

On April 17, the World Car Awards will make a stop at the 2019 New York Auto Show for the grand finale. One month later, they will get together again, this time at the London Motor Show, to celebrate the 2019 winners and to provide a glimpse of the 2020 contenders.

The previous edition saw the Volvo XC60 crowned World Car of the Year, whereas the Luxury Car award went to the Audi A8. The BMW M5, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Leaf and Range Rover Velar won the Performance, Urban, Green and Car Design categories, respectively.

The 2019 European Car of the Year is the Jaguar I-Pace.
