Many schools begin process for admissions to Class XI in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: Board exams not over yet, many private schools have started registrations for Class XI for the upcoming academic session in the city.
A few top schools have uploaded the registration details, including the date of the test. According to the notices, the admission is provisional and subject to successful clearing of the composite Class X exam with minimum percentage, as decided by the school for that stream.
Saupin’s School, Sector 32 has updated the admission notice for Class XI commerce stream. As per the notice, students who have scored minimum 70% marks in pre-board exams are eligible to apply. To ensure final admission, students need 70% marks in board exams. Certified copies of Class IX result and pre-board have to be submitted with the application form available online.
For Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, the last date to submit the application form is March 23. The school had started online registration on February 5. It will be conducting a written test on April 3. Bhavan is offering commerce, science and humanities streams. Registration forms and syllabus are available on the school website.
St Kabir School too has uploaded the admission notice. It has also asked candidates to attach pre-board results of Class X. The school would be conducting the entrance test on April 2 at 9.30am. The last date to submit the form has been fixed as March 22.
Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, has also uploaded the registration form for Class XI online. Its website stated the forms will be available on the website till March 15. The percentage for eligibility is 90% and above for science, 80% and above for commerce and 70% and above for humanities. The school website stated it would be conducting the entrance test on March 30. The notice further mentioned, “Admission for selected candidates on: April 10; orientation for parents on April 13 and classes will begin on April 15.”
All schools have said the management reserves the right to disqualify students who do not have a good conduct report from their passing-out school.
