Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that it for the first time after independence that the benefits of schemes meant for the welfare of the poor actually reached the intended beneficiaries and this was made possible by Prime Minister Narendra Modi because he knows what is poverty.
“After independence, for the first time poor families were provided free LPG connection. For Congress it was impossible, but PM Modi made it possible because he knows what poverty is. By 2022, we will give shelter to all poor. These works were impossible for Congress, SP and BSP but PM Modi turned the impossible into possible,” said Yogi after inaugurating a skill development centre at Siddharthpuram colony and launching PM Shramyogi Maan-Dhan Yojana at circuit house in Gorakhpur on Tuesday.

CM Yogi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi ran more than 100 schemes for all sections of society, including villagers, farmers, poor and youth. Around 36 crore bank accounts were opened with zero balance and Rs 2 lakh insurance cover was given to poor families.”

CM Yogi also laid foundation stone of 33 projects worth Rs 128 crore at Bansgaon.

“Bansgaon will be connected with Purvanchal expressway which will promote development of the area. A 50-bed hospital will come up which will later be turned into a 100-bed hospital as soon as land is available. Industries will be developed along expressway while a biofuel plant is being constructed at Dhuriapar. We aim to ensure that benefits reach people at the bottom of society.”

Yogi said that a CM helpline will be started soon in which people will work in three shifts and more than 500 people will get jobs. He said that UP has become number one in providing employment through skill development.

Cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan said, “Private organisations are also getting connected with the skill development programmes.”
