The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) official website was hacked on Tuesday morning and after which it remained inaccessible. Till now no hacker group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The BJP is yet to make an official statement on the same. Following the breach, the homepage of the party’s website showed a meme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel. Below the meme was a music video of Bohemian Rhapsody.
While access to the site still remains restricted, a message from the website admin said it will be back up soon. “We’ll be back soon! Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. we’ll be back online shortly!” the message read. In the meanwhile, Congress could not resist taking a swipe at its arch-rival. “Bhaiya aur Bhehno if you’re not looking at the BJP website right now- you’re missing out,” said Divya Spandana, head of social media for the main opposition party.
