Teenage girls accused of violent robbery of young woman

Four teenage girls have been charged with pushing a young woman over and snatching her handbag at Ipswich overnight.

Police allege the four teenagers followed a 19-year-old woman along a road at Goodna, about 25 kilometres south-west of Brisbane, before they stopped her and asked her for the time.

"They attempted to grab her phone and pushed her over. The woman kept hold of her phone however she dropped her handbag and one of the girls grabbed it," a police spokesman said.

"The girls ran away and were located a short time later by police.

"The 19-year-old woman was not physically injured, and police recovered all her property."

A 16-year-old Logan Reserve girl, a 13-year-old Logan Reserve girl, a 15-year-old Redbank Plains girl and a 14-year-old Collingwood Park girl have all been charged with robbery with violence.
