City weather will be dry in the coming days: IMD

Pune: The State has been witnessing a rise in day and night temperatures from the past few days. According to the Pune-based India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather will be dry during the next few days.

On Sunday, Pune reported maximum day temperature of 34.1 degrees Celsius and minimum night temperature of 15.7 degrees Celsius. In Maharashtra, the maximum day temperature was reported in Solapur at 37.9 degrees Celsius while lowest minimum temperature was reported in Nashik at 15.5 degrees Celsius.

IMD has forecast that this week the day temperature will be around 34 degrees Celsius while night temperature will be around 13 degrees Celsius. 

By the end of this week, there are chances that the city will experience cloudy skies. The weather across the State will be dry over Maharashtra and Goa till March 7.

National scenario

  • According to IMD, the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the plains was 6.5 degrees Celsius in Sikar, east Rajasthan, on Sunday. IMD also forecast that a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) is likely to affect northwest India from March 6.
  • Till March 7, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places are likely over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, said IMD.
