Search operation intensified to trace out terrorists in Tral: Police
M Saleem Pandit | TNN | Mar 4, 2019, 23:22 ISTSRINAGAR: After a brief firing exchange, security forces on Monday night intensified their search operation to trace terrorists in Tral area of Awantipora in south Kashmir.
SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem said the joint team of police and security forces had intensified searches in Mir Mohalla, Tral, to trace the hiding terrorists. "Cordon is still intact. All the entry and exit routes to the area have been sealed," he said.
Earlier, the SSP had said that the cordon was laid following specific information about the presence of some terrorists.
As per the sources, after the initial brief exchange of firing no fresh contact has been established with terrorists so far.
Sources said the terrorists might have escaped while taking advantage of darkness amid the brief shootout.
However, there was no injury reported on either side.
