MC seals Youth Akali leader’s house
TNN | Mar 4, 2019, 07:11 ISTLudhiana: MC officials sealed a building in Bhadhaur House market on Saturday late evening. A portion of this building was earlier dismantled by the civic officials.
The building belonged to the kin of a Youth Akali leader. According to sources, Congress leaders had asked MC to raze the building since the Youth Akali leader was accused of blackening the statue of former PM Rajiv Gandhi.
After the MC officials dismantle a portion of the building while razing down the building, a lot of hue and cry was raised. Following the incident, the youth Akali leader submitted a complaint with human rights commission. A team of officials from the commission arrived for interrogation.
The assistant town planner of zone A Mohan Singh said they had come to know that the owner of the building had started repair work at the site, and shutters had also been installed. They added since the building is not regularized, the construction cannot resume. He said building can be approved only after consulting the Ludhiana Improvement Trust officials as Bahadur House market had been developed by them.
