Minister lays foundation stone for development work in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu municipal administration minister S P Velumani on Monday laid the foundation stone for Rs 3.53crore development work in south zone of Coimbatore city.

The minister laid the foundation stone to construct an overhead tank (OHT) with five lakh liter capacity in both East Sugunapuram and Rainbow colony through Tamil Nadu Water and Drainage (TWAD) board at the cost of Rs 82.50 lakh, said a press release from corporation.


Also, construction work to establish a community park at Rainbow commenced and Rs 39.10 lakh from corporation general fund was allotted.


While rainwater harvesting system and concrete road would be laid at Sugunapuram at a cost of Rs 71.80, a similar rainwater harvesting system and concrete road would be established at a cost of Rs 58 lakh, the release added.
