Rajkot: An absconding accused, involved in a bogus homoeopathy marksheets scam, was nabbed from Khambhalia in Devbhoomi Dwarka district on Monday. Police said the accused, identified as Wahabmiya Qadri, allegedly used to fabricate bogus marksheets of various first year Homoeopathy colleges from outside Gujarat and sell them to aspiring students who could get admissions into the second year of any homoeopathy college.

“During interrogation, it was revealed that Qadri’s homoeopathy degree was a bogus. Not only that, he had ensured his son’s admission into a homoeopathy collage by providing him a bogus marksheet. Qadri used to fabricate bogus marksheets of homoeopathy colleges located in Delhi and Bihar,” said R Y Rawal, inspector of Rajkot SOG.

With those marksheets, Qadri had helped students secure admissions into BA Dangar Homoeopathy College, BG Garaiya Homoeopathy College and Vasantben Vyas Homoeopathy College. Amitabh Joshi, the principal of BA Dangar Homoeopathy College and the dean of Homoeopathy faculty of Saurashtra University, was earlier arrested in the scam. Qadri was produced before a court on Monday which sent him to five days remand.
