How to recreate Kareena Kapoor Khan’s soft contour and wavy hairstyle
- by Avanti Dalal
Kareena Kapoor Khan chose soft makeup and slicked back waves for an event last weekend, that could be perfect for your next night out

Over the weekend, Kareena Kapoor Khan attended the Vanitha Film Awards in Kochi, where she presented actor Dhanush with the award for Best Actor for his film, Vada Chennai, and performed a dance as well. For her day out, the actor walked the red carpet in a black strapless Armani gown, and changed into a red lehenga for her performance. Long-time hairstylist Yianni Tsapatori styled her hair in loose waves that were slicked back at the roots, letting the statement earrings have their place in the spotlight, while Pompy Hans kept the makeup classic with a cat eye and a pink lip, making sure to accentuate Kapoor Khan’s signature sharp cheekbones and eyebrows.

- Apply a thin layer of a moisturiser to the face and massage it in lightly with your fingers. Let it sit for 10 minutes, and apply a primer on top. Choose a creamy, medium coverage foundation like the Sephora Collection Glow Perfection Foundation and use a flat brush to dab it on the skin. Start from the inside and go outwards. Once the base is applied, blend it in with a beauty sponge to ensure that it does not streak or look patchy. Then, use a creamy concealer to cover dark circles, redness or blemishes.
- Dip a large fluffy brush into a translucent powder like the NYX Professional Makeup HD Finishing Powder, tap off the excess, and swirl it across the face in a circular motion, focusing on the T-zone, to prevent grease from showing up through the day.
- Once set, use a warm-toned bronzer or contour product like the Stila Sun Bronzer on the hollows of the cheekbones. Pick up product and apply angling the brush outwards towards the temples. Then, dip the brush in the powder again, and drag it across the edge of the jawline, all the way up to the chin. Apply a silky warm blush on the apples of the cheeks. Dot on a liquid illuminator on the tops of the cheekbones and down the nose.
- To get strong brows like Kapoor Khan’s, use an angled brow brush to fill in any sparse spots with a brow powder like the Natasha Denona Eyebrow Shadow Palette. Use small flicking motions to create realistic looking hairs. Once filled in, set with a coloured brow gel. Dust on a nude eyeshadow to the entire eyelid, and use a black eye pencil to line the lower lash line. Draw a cat eye flick on the lid with black liquid eyeliner, curl lashes by clamping down on the curler and making quick pumping motions, and swipe on two coats of volumising mascara.
- Use a nude lip liner to create a defined shape for your pout. Fill in with a velvety lipstick in a pinkish nude hue and apply a light gloss like the Maybelline Shine Shot Lip Topcoat in Clear Vinyl over it.
- For your hairstyle, create loose waves with a two-inch barrel curling iron. Once the curls are set, brush them out. Apply a wax like TIGI Bed Head Wax Stick to the roots to tamp the hair down, and tuck the front behind the ears. Apply a light shine spray over the strands to add a healthy sheen.
