Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that he is not “worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize” and whosoever “solves the Kashmir dispute” must get the prize.
In a tweet, he further stressed that the Kashmir dispute must be solved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
“I am not worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. The person worthy of this would be the one who solves the Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and paves the way for peace and human development in the subcontinent,” Khan tweeted.
After the Pulwama attack on February 14 and the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) counter-attack, the relationship between the two countries has worsened.
The Nobel Peace Prize is one of the five Nobel Prizes established by the will of Swedish industrialist, inventor and armaments manufacturer Alfred Nobel, along with the prizes in Chemistry, Physics, Physiology or Medicine and Literature.
Since March 1901, it has been bestowed annually to those who have worked for peace.
