“The Vivo V15 is a toned-down variant of the V15 Pro and ditches the in-display fingerprint scanner”
Vivo recently launched its mid-range smartphone, the V15 Pro (review) in India. The new smartphone boasts specs like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 SoC, a 48-megapixel primary shooter and an in-display fingerprint scanner as its key highlights. After the launch of the Pro model, it was expected that the company might launch a toned-down variant in the form of the Vivo V15 as well, and the smartphone has just gone official in Thailand.
Vivo V15 price, availability
The Vivo V15 is being offered in Topaz Blue and Glamor Red colourways in Thailand and is already up for pre-order. The pre-booking of the smartphone is open between March 1st and March 8th. The company has priced the V15 at THB 10,999 in the country, which roughly converts to Rs 24,500. While there is no word on the Indian pricing of the Vivo V15, the Pro model was launched for Rs 28,990 and we can expect the V15 to be much more affordable than that. As for availability, the new phone is speculated to launch in India this month.
Vivo V15 specifications
As mentioned earlier, the Vivo V15 is a toned-down variant of the Pro, and as you can see in the image above, it ditches the in-display fingerprint scanner in favour of a conventional rear-mounted one. Apart from that, the smartphone gets a slightly bigger screen and battery, but the rest of the spec sheet remains the same. The Vivo V15 comes with a 6.53-inch 19.5:9 FHD+ Ultra FullView display that offers 91.64 percent screen-to-body ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Ticking at the core is the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC backed by Mali-G72 MP3 GPU and 6GB RAM. In the software department, the phone boots FunTouch OS 9 based on Android 9.0 Pie.
Coming to the imaging department, the Vivo V15 sports a triple rear camera setup, which comprises a 12MP f/1.78 sensor, along with 8MP f/2.2, and 5MP f/2.4 sensors. For selfies, the V15 retains the 32MP f/2.0 pop-up camera of the Pro variant. Powering the whole setup is a beefy 4,000mAh battery with Dual Engine fast charging.
