Bill Clinton's Backing May Not be High on 2020 Democrats' ListAn endorsement from the former president of your party could put wind in the sails of any campaign but front-running Democrats appear to be avoiding that from Bill Clinton.????The Associated Press reports that so far only lesser known Democratic candidates; Montana Governor Steve Bullock, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro and former Maryland Congressman John Delaney have had formal discussions with the former commander in chief.????Notably missing from that list are any of the women who are running for president on the Democratic ticket.????This could partially be explained by Clinton’s past, including having an affair in the White House and the rise in the MeToo movement since the 2016 election.????New York Senator and presidential hopeful Kirsten Gillibrand is a champion of that cause but was also backed by both the Clintons throughout her political career.????She recently said that Clinton should have resigned following his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky.????Bill Clinton said that Gillibrand is “living in a different context”????But sources told the AP that the Clintons are furious with this betrayal and that the relationship may be beyond repair.????Indeed Bill Clinton has seen his political clout rise and fall since he’s been out of office…????...Clinton’s own Vice President Al Gore distanced himself from the outgoing president during his 2000 election run.????But Bill Clinton was later seen as one of the strongest supporters for Barack Obama’s successful 2012 re-election campaign.????It remains to be seen if former candidate Hillary Clinton will be sought after for her endorsement.????The AP reports that after such a hard-fought 2016 primary though, predictably neither the Bernie Sanders’ camp nor the Clinton’s will be seeking each other out.????On ABC’s “The View”, Sanders answered this question…????SOT Bernie??“We’re hearing about a lot of Democratic candidates who are meeting with Hillary Clinton for advice though, some people like Amy Klobachar, do you think you’ll do the same???I suspect not”
