The management of Singareni Collieries has set a target to transport 2.2 lakh tonnes of coal every day during March 2019 to meet the production and despatch of coal targets for the year.

The company registered coal dispatches of 61.3 MT tonnes till February-end this year, up 5% over 58.2 million tonne achieved during the same period last year. The dispatches, however, crossed the target of 60 MT fixed by the company till February-end.

However, the company overburden removal was lower than the expected level in the open cast mines.

The CMD expressed the need to meet the overall targets and wanted the management to prepare plans for timely dispatches of coal during the rainy season in the next financial year.

Both the coal fired thermal power generation units of 600 MW each at the Singareni power plant in the State have achieved 100.05% plant load factor (PLF) during February.

For the second time the two units have achieved 100 per cent PLF during the current financial year, the first instance being in September last.
