A 30-year-old street vendor was shot dead allegedly by two men in Dwarka’s Bindapur on Friday, the police said on Sunday.
The incident was a fallout of an old dispute between victim Imran and the accused, they said.
Around 6 p.m. on Friday, the police were informed about an incident of firing at Shukar Bazar road. When they reached the spot, the injured had been shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he succumbed during treatment.
Imran had sustained three bullet injuries, a senior police officer said. Eyewitnesses told the police that Imran was shot by two young persons and that one of them was Sumit, who had an enmity with him.
Investigations revealed that in 2013, Imran had attacked one of Sumit’s relatives. The two parties had also been fighting a court case in connection with the incident. Imran was acquitted in September 2018.
A case was registered and an investigation taken up, the officer said. Raids have been conducted at the possible hideouts of the absconding accused, he added.
