Pedestrian run over by speeding car
TNN | Mar 5, 2019, 04:21 ISTAttingal: A 59-year-old man was killed after he was knocked by a speeding car near Pappala in Kilimanoor on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Prasad, son of Kunhikrishnan, a resident of Krishna Bhavan, Porunthamon. He was a construction worker.
According to Kilimanoor police, the mishap occurred on Sunday around 8 30pm, when the victim was crossing the road. “According to an eyewitness account, the victim was trying to cross the road when a speeding car, which was heading towards Thiruvananthapuram direction from Nilamel, knocked him down. He was seriously injured on his spine, head and face. Passersby rushed him to the Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries by 10pm,” said a police officer.
After the post-mortem, his body was handed over to the family on Monday. He leaves behind his wife Leela Prasad and sons Vinu Prasad and Anu Prasad. tnn
