Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and former Chief Minister of Kerala and In-charge of AP Congress affairs Oommen Chandy on Sunday said the Congress alone was capable of putting Andhra Pradesh back on track as the party high command was committed to granting the Special Category Status and ushering in the development in the backward districts.
Yatra ends
They said AICC president Rahul Gandhi would become Prime Minister and fulfil the promises including the SCS mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act-2013.
The Pratyeka Hoda-Praja Bharosa Yatra launched by PCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy in Anantapur district on February 19 culminated at Narasannapeta, near district headquarters of Srikakulam where another public meeting was held.
Attending as the chief guest, Mr. Baghel said the real development always took place in the backward areas of Chhattisgarh during the Congress regime. He said the SCS would be a blessing in disguise for the State which could not have proper infrastructure and a well-developed capital. Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said the party’s revival was a good sign for the State.
