Chandigarh: BJP MP Kirron Kher inaugurates green belt

CHANDIGARH: Member of Parliament Kirron Kher on Sunday inaugurated a green belt at Rehabilitation & EWS colony in sector 38(W), and a green park in sector 26.
While addressing the gathering, city MP Kirron Kher appreciated the work done by the municipal corporation and said the beautiful green belt and park would be beneficial for people of all ages, including young, old and children.
Arun Sood, Area councillor of sector 38 (West) said that the green belt has been developed on 3.5 acres of land with a walking track (footpath) 1054.87 meter. He said that this green belt has been provided Tertiary Treated (TT) water supply for maintaining greenery throughout the year. The total expenditure of the belt was around Rs 61.97 lakh.
The green park in sector 26, has been developed on 2.5 acres of land from MPLAD funds. The total expenditure of the park was around rupees 40 lakh.
The special features of the green belt and park are chyme trees, play equipment for children, benches, huts, toe wall railing, high mast light, ornamental trees and an open-air gym.
Chandigarh mayor Rajesh Kumar, area councillors Arun Sood and Dalip Kumar Sharma of sector 38 (west) and sector 26, officers of the civic body were also present on the occasion.
