Three-year-old Niah Sanjith has taken one step closer to the Guinness World Records as the youngest cuber to solve three types of twisty puzzles/Rubik’s cube.
On March 3, the girl from Thathampally in Alappuzha showcased her skills to get uniform colours on all sides of the cube at a cubing competition organised by the World Cube Association in Thiruvananthapuram.
At the competition, Niah solved different variants of puzzle — 3x3, 2x2, and Pyraminx in record time. She completed 2x2 and Pyraminx in 31.05 seconds and 41.25 seconds respectively and solved 3x3 in 1:51.77 minutes. After the competition, Daniel James, delegate, World Cube Association, handed Niah a certificate acknowledging her as the ‘youngest cuber to solve three types of Rubik’s cube’ at the age of 3 years and 232 days.
Guiness Records
Her parents now hope to use the result of the cubing competition to enter the Guinness World Records.
According to Dr. Tixy, mother of Niah, she uses her own technique to solve the puzzles. Dr. Tixy said her daughter developed an interest in puzzles after watching older children in their neighbourhood solve Rubik’s cube and play board games.
