'It's hard to believe': Police slam 'stupid' Ford Mustang driver who was clocked travelling 190km/h on a road notorious for fatal crashes

A Ford Mustang driver has been slammed by police after being clocked speeding at 190km/h on a road notorious for fatal and serious crashes.
The driver of the American muscle car was spotted on Indian Ocean Drive, near Nilgen, Western Australia, and then pulled over by police.
Police expressed dismay at the driver's actions in light of the recent publicity around crashes on the dangerous stretch of road, and its work on roads safety.
'It is hard to believe…that people are still willing to put themselves and others at risk by making dangerous and stupid decisions to speed' said Western Australian Police Force on its Facebook page.

The stretch of road has seen a number of crashes in recent years.
In late 2018 a car crashed head-on with a tour bus after it attempted to overtake a camper van.

'It is remarkable the driver and two passengers survived that crash and again it is subject to an investigation.' Western Australia Police Commissioner Chris Dawson told Perth Now at the time.
In another incident in December 2018, two men were killed and another eight people were injured after the driver of a ute went into cardiac arrest before slamming head-on into a minibus.
The driver will face court for their 'reckless driving' and their Mustang has been impounded for 28 days.
