Read MoreDavanagere: A 70-year-old woman was killed and 17 people sustained injuries when a tractor toppled near Lokadolaluru village in Chitradurga district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Hanumamma, a resident of Kabbala village.
The tractor was carrying 20 people who attended a ritual at Sri Doddakatte Ranganatha Swamy Temple atop a hill near Lokadolaluru. The accident took place on their return from the shrine. The driver lost control and the trailer was detached from the tractor.
The injured underwent treatment at Holalkere hospital and discharged later. However, over 10 people with grievous injuries were shifted to SS Medical Hospital in Davanagere. They are out of danger, said Holalkere police.
