Azamgarh police starts probe into fake Twitter account of Abhinandan

VARANASI: Azamgarh police on Sunday assigned teams of crime branch and cyber cell to investigate the matter of making a fake twitter account of Indian Air Force’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to praise Pakistan and its Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Azamgarh city SP Kamlesh Bahadur said that taking note a complaint in this regard police ensured immediate blocking of such Twitter account. The cyber cell has been asked to complete investigation in this matter, he said adding, on the basis of outcomes of cyber cell investigation an FIR will be lodged.
A local youth Avkush Singh tweeted UP police to alert the cops about the misuse of Abhinandan’s fake Twitter account. Bahadur said that in his complaint Singh alleged that this fake account had been generated three-four days back by someone who posed him as Abhinandan also had conversation with some of the followers.
Singh alleged that in the same conversation the fake account maker had been praising Pakistan and its PM. He said that he became about this fake Twitter account by going Facebook page of a local youth, who had posted screen shot of same conversation between fake Twitter account maker and his followers. Singh demanded police for quick action.
The SP City said that taking serious note of this complaint the crime branch and cyber cell cops were engaged immediately. He said that submission of their investigation report by the cyber cell cops is expected by Monday evening or Tuesday after which future course of action will be decided.
