G-Power Launches 420 PS BMW 440i GC, Can Take It Up To 500 PS

BMW isn’t making an M4 Gran Coupe. Rumor has it that M Division will rectify this in the next generation, but until then those looking for a sporty version of the four-door coupe will have to settle for the 440i.

The 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six has 326 PS (321 hp / 240 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, which enable it to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.1 seconds and max out at 250 km/h (155 mph).

With a little help from G-Power and their Performance Software, the 440i Gran Coupe has gotten closer to the M4 Coupe, with 420 PS (414 hp / 309 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time hasn’t been release yet, but the tuner claims that the V-max limiter has been removed and the car has a 300+ km/h (186 mph) top speed.

The stainless steel exhaust system with a rear silencer is said to provide “the perfect sound”, and the car packs other aftermarket parts that will be detailed in due course.

Part of a ‘40i Limited Edition Package’ offered by G-Power, the ECU tune also applies to the M140i, M240i and 340i. Production will be capped at 50 units worldwide, and to emphasize their special character, each car will feature a special build plaque to remind users that their Bimmer is a tad more exclusive than the rest.

With other versions of the tuner’s Performance Software, the 440i Gran Coupe can venture deeper into M territory, with up to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW). Bear in mind that this doesn’t come cheap; the ultimate upgrade goes up to at least €11,800 ($13,430) in Germany, and that’s without the V-max increase or other options.
