2 auto-lifters held, 10 bikes recovered

Allahabad: City police on Sunday arrested two auto-lifters identified as Lalji Patel of Reeva and Anshuman Yadav of Shankargarh and recovered 10 stolen bikes from their hideouts. The duo were arrested near Kapari moan when they were waiting for a broker. Police said that Lalji was carrying Rs 25,000 cash reward on his head. Station house officer (Shankargarh) Bhuvanesh Kumar Chubby said that the arrested auto-lifters were operating an inter state auto-lifting gang and they used to sell stolen bikes in other states to avoid police suspicion.

He further added Anshuman carrying Rs 15,000 cash reward on his head was the kingpin of the racket and a total of three auto-lifters were operating the gang in an organised way.


The police is currently looking for one Balwant alias Chotu of shankargarh who used to search for clients for resale of vehicles.
