NOIDA: The family of a contractor has alleged that he was murdered by his employer in Sector 88 three days ago. Gore Lal, a resident of Barola in Sector 49, was found injured under mysterious circumstances on February 28 and later died during treatment. A case has been registered.
Lal’s family said he had been working as a contractor of labourers at a construction site in Sector 88 for the past year. Around 5.30am on February 28, one of Lal’s colleagues informed his family that he had met with an accident.

By the time the family reached the hospital, Lal had been declared dead on arrival by doctors.

“My father left home around 9am on February 27 and even took some money as he had to pay the labourers their wages. He phoned my sister in the evening and said the owner of the building being built had refused to pay him for the construction work. He was angry and said he was going to file a case against the owner,” said Rajkumar, Lal’s son.

Lal didn’t return home that night, and the family came to know that he an “accident” through a security guard stationed at the site, Rajkumar said.

“One of the security guards came to our house in the morning around 5.30am to inform us that my father had fallen off a grille and had been critically injured. When we reached the hospital, doctors told us that he died on the spot due to a head injury and fracture in the leg,” he added.

Cops said Lal’s body has been sent for an autopsy to ascertain the reason of death. “The family has told us it suspects the owner of the building to be behind the death, but hasn’t named anyone in the complaint. We registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC against unidentified persons on Saturday. The allegations raised by the family are being investigated. We’re also waiting for the autopsy report. Action will be taken accordingly,” said Farmood Ali Pundhir, SHO of Phase 2 police station.
