Susegad showroom inauguration

Crescent Group branches out into Susegad brand of fragrances

Cuncolim based, Crescent Group, is exuding sweet smell. The company forayed into the air care and personal care fragrance segment and launched brand Susegad – The fragrance of Goa.  The Susegad range includes perfumes, attars, air fresheners, fragrance oils, diffusers and candles. It will be sold through two exclusive retail outlets, in Margao and Cuncolim.

The brand launch was by Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State, Ministry of Ayush, in presence of guest of honour, Keshav Kamat, reputed industrialist and past president GSIA.

Crescent Group is celebrating its silver jubilee and the diversification into retail fragrances is to mark the 25-year milestone. It is the first Goan company to foray into air care and personal care fragrances products.

Incorporated in 1994, the Crescent Group is the only aromatic ingredient manufacturer in the state. The company employs only Goans in its Cuncolim factory. A decade ago, the group went in for backward integration and ventured into the manufacturing of natural essential oils and spice oils. Today the company supplies fragrance ingredients to leading perfumery houses across the world.

The company’s inspirational founder, Sudhakar Keny, who hails from Sanvorcatto, Cuncolim, is probably the first Goan to acquire expertise in the manufacture of fragrances and has remarkable experience of 55 years in the perfumery industry.

Speaking on the occasion of the brand launch, Sameer Keny, managing director Crescent group, said “We have tried to harness our experience and core competency in our brand by using natural ingredients. Our products contain significant percentage of natural aroma ingredients and natural essential oils, which are manufactured at our facility.

He added that, the company plans to make fragrances for every market segment. “So forget scents that are made in France or the Middle East. Under Susegad brand we are going to have fragrances that are made in our beloved Goa,” said Keny.
