Women are like a universe which has endless love and compassion. They are strong, independent, immensely talented and self-made. We can’t deny the fact that they don different roles throughout the day, from being a mother, wife, daughter, that special friend or a partner and their multi-tasking capabilities are unmatched.

We must do our every bit to make the lives of these incredible women around us more comfortable, no matter if they work at office or run the home. So, this International Women’s day let us share some gadgets and apps that can offer a helping hand not only in daily chores of their lives, but also in their self-protection and care.

MevoFit fitness tracker for Women: Fitness never hurts and if the fitness tracker is made specifically for women, it can easily become their new best friend. Not only the MevoFit HR+ lets you track your fitness activities, but it also comes with a period tracker, ovulation tracker and an optical heartrate sensor providing an independent approach to their life even while managing their daily chores.

This female only tracker even has a coaching feature that offers new moms fitness tips from dieticians and trainers, taking care of their nutritional requirements and help them get back in to shape. Neat isn’t it.

OptiSafe My Hero: This is a distress companion that can be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth and comes handy in case of emergencies. Though it can be used by anyone, it is actually very helpful for females who commute alone. This pen styled gadget, once activated, sounds off a distress siren on the device itself and the connected smartphone, alerting people nearby about the mishap.

It also shares live GPS co-ordinates of the device as well as triggers audio/video recordings on the smartphone and shares it to the pre-defined contacts in case of a distress. The OptiSafe My Hero offers 6 months of battery life and it needs stay connected with the smartphone via Bluetooth for it to function properly.

Headspace: People meditate to relax the mind or improve concentration levels, however, meditation in known to offer a lot of other health and medical benefits as well. In today’s stressed life, practicing meditation can come in really handy especially for women since they have to take care of so many things daily without a break. Hence a few minutes of guided meditation a day can offer relief from stress, amnesia, lack of focus and anxiety.

For starters, application like Headspace can come in really handy. It is an award winning digital health platform and provides guided meditation through hundreds of themed sessions. Available for both Android and iOS, Headspace a free application with different libraries available to purchase.

Ojoy Kids smart watch: This smartwatch is designed especially for mothers to monitor kids, so if you’re a working mother or even otherwise, you can remotely access the where about of your kids and keep a track of their activities. Apart from regular smartwatch features, like alarm, calendar and fitness tracking, it highlight features include two way calling to preset numbers and geo-fencing which alerts you when your kid has moved out of a pre-set geographical boundary.

Despite of boasting 4G connectivity, the Ojoy A1 smartwatch does not have an option to browse through internet or any option to download games, unlike other smartwatches. The connectivity feature are primarily present to ensure the safety of kids. Though it comes at a premium price, this kids’ smartwatch offers a peace of mind to the parents who are always concerned about the safety of their kids.

Kindle eBook reader: While eBook readers may not offer the same feel as reading a novel would do, however, Kindle does offer you the closest experience that too on the go. It is very portable and can store hundreds of ebooks, pdfs and other documents. The e-ink display on Kindle is battery friendly so you won’t have to worry about carrying another charger often. While it may not have been designed specifically for women, but it is a definite companion in her ‘me time’.
