CHENNAI: Chennai Metrowater Water Supply and Sewerage Board will launch 90 more 6,000-litre water tanks on Monday. Minister for rural and municipal administration S P Velumani will launch the trucks.

Currently there are about 654 tankers of which 225 have 6,000-litre capacity.

“Each of the 15 zones of the corporation has around twelve 6,000-litre capacity trucks. However, they are mostly used to supply water to narrow street in slum areas. So residents’ demand for 6,000-liters tankers are not fully fulfilled,” said officials.
